AdBlue is an emission-based exhaust after-treatment system, designed to lower NOx emissions.
The AdBlue fluid a mixture of urea and demineralised water is injected into an exhaust system just before an SCR catalyst. The introduction of the AdBlue into the exhaust system generates a chemical reaction inside the catalyst, which results in N0x being converted into nitrogen and water vapour.
how does adblue work?
The AdBlue / SCR system is made up of a number of components, AdBlue Tank, AdBlue Pump, AdBlue Injector, and a SCR Catalytic Converter. The system as a whole is controlled by the ECU and a number of sensors monitor it. If the AdBlue system fails, it can be very costly to replace or fix, which is why an AdBlue delete is a cost-effective way to no longer experience issues.
What is done when doing an adblue delete?
At SK tuning, we disable the AdBlue function from the ECU, in most cases, we also need to read the software from the DCU (doing control module). With this function turned off there will be no more warning lights, limp mode or any other symptoms.
